Terms of Service

Last updated: 25 September 2026

1. The service

Outbid.place lets you place an advertisement (a name, logo, link, short description and colour) on a country of a world map by paying its price. Anyone can take the country over by paying more than the current owner paid, by at least the minimum outbid amount shown at checkout.

2. Payment

Prices are shown in US dollars before checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe. An invoice is issued for every purchase.

3. No refunds

All payments are final. You are paying for your advertisement to be shown until someone outbids you, which can happen at any time, including right after your purchase. You are not refunded, in whole or in part, when you are outbid. When you check out, you ask for the advertisement to be shown straight away. You accept that the service is then fully provided, so any statutory right to cancel no longer applies.

4. Your content

You must own or have permission to use everything you submit. You must not submit content that is illegal, sexual, hateful, violent, deceptive, or infringes anyone's rights. You must not link to malware, phishing or scams. We may remove or edit any advertisement that breaks these rules, without refund. You give us a licence to display your content on Outbid.place and in promotion of it, such as screenshots.

5. No guarantees

The service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee any amount of traffic, visibility or uninterrupted availability. The map is rendered with Google Maps, and its borders and names are Google's.

6. Liability

To the extent allowed by law, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Changes and ending the service

We may update these terms. The version published here applies to purchases made after the update. If we shut the service down, we will give reasonable notice on this site.

8. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep any mandatory protections of the country where you live.
